Joanna graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kent State University. She has two bachelor’s, one in fashion merchandising and another in entrepreneurship. These are her projects that she has completed throughout college for courses, case studies, and hiring events.

  • Seminar in Fashion Merchandising Capstone

    In the fall of my senior year, I took Seminar in Fashion Merchandising, which is a culmination of all the merchandising classes I have had. The capstone project had elements from my Planning & Buying, Product Development, Fashion Forecasting classes, and more. I created a merchandising strategy for Loewe based on developing a pet line.

  • Gap Inc RMP Round 2 Project

    This is a project I did for the highly competitive Gap Inc Rotational Management Program in their New York City Office. The prompt was to create a brand that would fit into their portfolio of brands. I got offered a position in the program.

  • 2023 Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Submission

    The summer after my junior year (2022), I decided to participate in the Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Competition for a second time. I utilized the skills that I had gain from my three years as a fashion merchandising and entrepreneurship major to create this project.

  • AEO Inc Trend Project

    I created this project for AEO Inc’s Assistant Teammate Program. The prompt was to identify the customer and suggest 3 trends for American Eagle Men’s, Women’s, and Aerie.I was one of eighteen that got invited to the final interview event for their New York City Office.

  • Fashion Forecasting Final Project

    In the spring of my junior year, I took Fashion Forecasting. I was assigned to create an overall trend forecast for a brand of choice, which we worked on throughout the semester. I created a Spring/Summer 23 forecast by researching brand background, future trends, color, fabric predictions, and more for Parade

  • The School of Fashion's 2022 Annual Fashion Show

    As the Senior Co-Producer, I organized an in-person and virtual fashion show through supervising day-to-day operations of the management team and overseeing the execution of designer critiques, photo shoots, model fittings, video production filming days, and fashion show days

  • Planning & Buying Final Project

    In the fall of my junior year, I took Planning & Buying while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I was assigned a retailer and had to propose a product line that the retailer should carry with a detailed buy order.

  • Product Development Final Project

    In the fall of my junior year, I took Product Development in Florence, Italy. This was a group project in where we created our own company with a 20 item product assortment.

  • 2021 Black Retail Action Group Summer Case Study

    During the summer of 2021, I was a Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) intern whom connected me with my Saks Fifth Avenue internship. I was assigned a group case study with interns from other companies on workplace equity in retail.

  • The School of Fashion's 2021 Annual Fashion Show

    As the Junior Co-Producer of the School of Fashion’s Annual Fashion Show, I aided in putting this production together from photo shoots, cookbook creation, video production days, and more.

  • 2021 Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Submission

    The summer after my freshman year (2020), I decided to participate in the Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Competition. I worked with faculty mentors to help develop my ideas and find my research. I did not become a scholar, but this case study was valuable experience for me to gain so early in my college career.
